Nine in all (six entries plus the Christmas ornament entry that didn't need framing)...
Here's what I'm thinking so far...
In framed pictures, Counted Cross Stitch 14 count
In framed pictures, Counted Cross Stitch Set with related theme (2 or more)
In framed samplers: Counted Cross Stitch 18 ct
In framed samplers: Counted Cross Stitch 25 ct or higher
In Needlework Specialities - counted thread on even weave
and in special themed contest (Halloween) - framed picture (oops, my camera strap is in the photos!)
Clearly, I don't have a common thread (no pun intended) in what I stitch! Eclectic, that's me!
You and I definitely have a similar eclectic taste! They all look wonderful - and I'm jealous that your fair seems to have current, correct categories! I will cross stitches for your HUGE SUCCESS in bringing home nothin' but BLUE!
ReplyDeleteAww, gee, thanks! I have my fingers crossed. But the best is that my husband likes all nine of those pieces! (and so does my neighbor who is after me to enter the State Fair --- I really should look into that, if only to get her to stop bugging me!).
ReplyDeleteI agree, they do seem to have some "current" categories but it frustrates me that there is no 16 CT category in samplers! And everything BUT cross stitch is lumped in Speciality Needlework so my blackwork competes with hardanger and needlepoint and (Apples v Oranges, IMO).
No 16ct here, either - but then, there also aren't separate categories for the design type here, either - cross stitch 14ct or under, cross stitch 18ct and higher, and miscellaneous - that is IT :( Wow, way to leave some ginormous gaps.... Fortunately, I use the misc. categories, and the holiday non-specific craft categories to their full potential :) So I could never enter more than 5 pieces of stitching - and have every possible category covered. It's so 1972...
