I said I would work a little on the February BJP - and I did (but I ran out of a bead so I'm waiting...) and I said I would try to finish some of the 2010 BJP pages - and I did: they are all pinned and ready for the sewing machine. But I did stitch on "Garden Stars" as well. Smaller motifs move a lot faster!
Still, only one of the 16 chart pages (page 2) is actually completed although there are parts of at least six more pages underway.
Wow - if you worked on getting BJP pieces done, as well, then you are a speedy stitcher! Stars is looking fantastic! I saw a piece of that fabric at an ONS last week, cheap, thought about getting it for this - but then I looked at my checkbook :( Some day... :)
ReplyDeleteNot so speedy. Just stitched all day long! The benefits of being retired *and* and snowed in!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful piece of work. Carol, you are so talented. What will you make from this beautiful piece? Do you quilt? Right now we are counting down the last days of our move. I'm not able to work on my projects freely, that's why I got ahead of myself. My new hobbie room is full of boxes of art that belong on the walls. I've started to unload and hang, this too can be satisfying. Enjoy your time,Peace be with you. Leslie
ReplyDeleteNot talent --- just perseverance, and a lot of ripping out. Garden Stars will probably be framed --- it's too large and awkwardly shaped to be anything else. And then the framed piece will likely join the stack of other framed pieces since we have no wall space left!
ReplyDeleteI took quilting classes when we lived in Saudi and while I learned to piece (badly), I never learned to quilt. So, thinking I might learn if I joined a quilt guild... well, let's just say that it hasn't been a learning experience so far! I still have a slew of unfinished class pieces from the late 1990s in a tote bag in my craft space.
I don't envy you your unpacking. We never finished unpacking ourselves when we moved in here --- the basement is chock-a-block with full boxes, mainly of books...
Yes, Books, I love them. My hubby is going digital and thinks I should too, but I'm not, at least not totally. We have the bookselves. I'm going to take my first embroidery class, this wkend. I told my husband I would be taking my lunch at 1-2:30 on Sat. It's a mother and daughter team teaching and the patterns are from the 50's. I'll need the break. Well ladies have a good nite/morning.
